Inspiration

Six Shots Till Sundown was inspired by games such as Portal, Exposure, and Superliminal. It aims to be an atmospheric puzzle platformer that challenges the player’s perception of what they can and cannot control. As well as what they can and cannot hide behind. Set in a world that draws heavily from the violent old west films I grew up watching with my father, you play as a woman searching the fabled red deserts of Wyoming for her kidnapped daughter. Sneaking in and out rowdy towns looking for clues while equipped only with a magical instant film camera with six shots.

Now You See Me, Now You Don’t

The game’s defining mechanic is centered around the use of a magical instant film camera that the player finds early on in the adventure. With it players can take an instant film photo of any object in the scene which immediately removes it from the world and places it into the palm of your hand. From there you can choose to place the contents of that photo anywhere you point at. This mechanic is used to solve stealth puzzles in the environment to progress past obstacles to your goal.
